The Christmas Market at La Villette
We took part in the Christmas Market held at La Villette in Paris from November 23 to 29.
This market, which has been held in Switzerland for the past 15 years, was hosted in Paris for the very first time this year.
Many visitors came to enjoy cheese fondue, and on Saturday alone the market welcomed around 20,000 people. We were delighted that so many customers purchased our products as Christmas gifts.
At our stand, we served kikurage (wood ear mushrooms) simply sautéed in a frying pan with heated sesame oil. Local visitors were very curious about these unique Japanese ingredients. While many wanted to try them, they weren’t sure how to use them, so we shared easy and practical ways to enjoy them in everyday meals.
Despite the rain and snow, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who visited our booth.
In addition to craft products, the market featured food chalets, an ice-skating rink, a Ferris wheel, and children’s play areas, creating a theme-park-like atmosphere that could be enjoyed by families, couples, and groups alike.
We are planning to participate for a longer period next year, and we very much look forward to seeing you again.
